We have had one of the most relaxing weekends we've had in a very long time. It has been awesome! The beauty of this weekend began with renting movies on Friday night. Kelsey rented 101 Dalmations while Matt and I watched The Vow. Mattey and I indulged in a few drinks and stayed up until 1am watching the movie. We have not been up that late watching movies since I can't remember when. I hope that doesn't age me too much ;) Saturday morning the relaxtion continued with not having to wake up at 6am. The girls slept in and therefore, so did we! After getting an oil change on our vehicle, we went to watch our nephews play soccer. Next up, we went to get flowers and seeds for our garden. The remainder of the afternoon was spent weeding and planting our garden with the help of Matt's parents. They both have such a knack for gardening. We were lucky to have them help us. To round out the evening, we grilled out and played some games. We were all pretty tired from a full day outside in the sun. Let's just say we didn't stay up until 1am that night. I think we were lucky if we were up until 10. Sunday morning I awoke to a very sweet Kelsey girl handing me a mother's day card and saying " Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" It was so sweet! Megan also gave me kisses ;) We went to church and then continued our tradition of buying flowers and planting our pots. I am so thankful that Vickie always helps me because she is so good at it, and I am so not good at it. My thumb is more brown than green. We headed to dinner with the Skala clan to celebrate a job well done and mother's day. It has been so wonderful not feeling rushed and just going with the flow. Busy weekends are fun too, but there is something about easy going days that just makes me smile. Less than a month until summer break and those days are just around the corner. :) On this mother's day, I am so thankful and blessed to be the mother to two beautiful and amazing little girls. I adore them. They are everything to me and I love them with every ounce of my being. Being a mom is busy and a lot of work, but truly worth every second of it. I have wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember, and my girls are incredible. Growing up I had a great role model in my own mother. She was the greatest. I am fortunate to have Vickie now who as my mother-in-law treats me like a daughter and allows me to come to her with anything. She is an amazing mother to Mattey, mother-in-law to me, and grandma to our girls. Being a mom is the most rewarding experience in my life, and I thank God for the opportunity to raise my girls and be their mom.
