Here is what Kelsey is into right now:

10. Grabbing anything within her reach and then trying to run away with it as she giggles.

9. Playing with her cell phone and putting it by her ear to talk.

8. Giving kisses or blowing kisses while saying "muah".

7. Saying "meow" for the cat and "moo" for the cow.

6. Digging in Mommy's purse.

5. Taking out her dirty spoons from the dishwasher as we load dishes.

4. Watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

3. Dancing whenever there is music on.

2. Dropping her food over the side of her high chair.

1. Twirling Mommy's hair, especially as she falls asleep.

We Love the Coach

Unless you have ever lived with a coach before, it is tough to imagine the kind of committment that is given. Mattey has been coaching football since 2003 when he coached the Eau Claire Regis Ramblers when we were in college. (They even won state that year!) He is now the head B squad coach and varsity running backs coach since moving back to Owatonna. The amount of time that is put into the sport is unbelievable. Between practices, games, mini-husky, fundraising, and game film, football keeps him quite busy. Kelsey and I support Mattey 100% because we know what a role model he is for his players. It makes us very proud to watch him on the field and to see what a great job he does. We do miss him when he is away from home, but we make up for it when he is home and take advantage of every minute. We know that coaching is Mattey's passion and we are very proud of our coach :)

Hubbell House Dinner

Last night we were treated to a night at the Hubbell House. www.hubbellhouserestaurant.com I have heard how yummy it is since I entered the Skala family and finally got to experience it. We went there to celebrate Dave and Vickie's 35th wedding anniversary, as well as all the September birthdays. (Connor, Diane, Stacey and Vickie) The appearance of the place alone is something to behold. It gives the feeling of an old-style European restaurant. It actually really reminded me of the some of the places we ate when I was in Polan with my family in 2000. Our food was delicious, and the company was better. We spent time talking about how Dave and Vickie met and guessing the birth info on Stacey, Matt and Nate. It was a very nice way to end our weekend. Thanks Dave and Vickie!

Teething=Ear Infections

Kelsey has been cutting her first molars for the past two weeks. She has been a little more sensitive when she eats, but other than that things seemed to going fine. However, her sleeping started to be off at the beginning of the week and by Tuesday night she had a fever of 102. Matt stayed home with her on Wednesday since none of us really slept the night before and Kelsey's fever had not gone down. They had a good day and Kelsey seemed to be doing better so we didn't take her to the doctor. Well then Thursday night her fever flared back up and we were up most of the night again. Mommy got to stay home today and take Kelsey to the doctor. Sure enough, double ear infection. She got the same thing when she cut her two upper front teeth. The doctor put her on an antibiotic. I sure hope she feels better tomorrow! Poor girl! I am glad we cut teeth as a baby and don't remember what a tramatic experience it is. She has 10 teeth now--how many more to go?

Happy Grandparent's Day! We hope you know that we love you and we appreciate what you do for us. Also, happy birthday to my brother Brian and to Nate's girlfriend, Diane. Happy Birthday to Molly on Tuesday, too!

Relaxing Weekend

After our first week back to school, Matt and I were really looking forward to a weekend at home with Kelsey. Before Mattey could take in a little R&R, he was back to school bright and early on Saturday morning after his game Friday night to watch film and run the mini-husky camp for 1st and 2nd graders. Once he made it home, we ran some errands, watched the Badgers and Golphers, and then went to a surprise birthday party that evening. Sunday brought church and the start of the NFL football season. We have NFL ticket this year so Matt was pretty excited for that. It will be really nice that I can watch all the Packer games this year. In between games, Matt did some master's homework and I tried to plan out a few activities for my class of 1st graders. To finish our night, we watched the Packers home opener against the Bears. Kelsey finally got to wear her green and gold cheerleading outfit! It made Mommy very proud :) Have a great week!

Are you ready for some football?

Football season is upon us. Matt had his first B squad game last Thursday in Prior Lake. My brother and sister were able to join us since it was close to both of their houses. The kiddos had fun running on the field after the game.
On Friday, varsity played at home and won 40-0. It was fun to watch. Kelsey wore her husky apparel and actually made it through the entire game. Here is Kelsey last year at her first football game. What a change to now!

Saturday was the Badger home opener, and Kelsey and I were dressed for a win! The Badgers didn't let us down and beat Northern Illinois. Next up, the Packer game next week. Kelsey will be sporting her Packers cheerleading outfit. Picture to come :


At dinner tonight, Kelsey kept putting her hands up when we would ask her how big she is. We will have to teach her that could be the sign for touchdown, too. Nothing like football season :)

The pictures are in...

and they are awesome! You might remember me posting last month that Kelsey had her one year pictures taken and was a little bit off due to shots she received and her one year molar cutting. I was definitely nervous as to what kind of results we would receive. But I worried for nothing because the photos are great! Our photographer did an amazing job and we are very happy with the results. Now I have to decide which ones to order which will be tough because there are so many to choose from. This is a good problem to have ;)
