First Haircut
Kelsey had her first haircut on Friday. I have snipped it here and there until this point if I noticed a wild hair that was longer the rest, but this time we took her to the salon. She was really excited and hopped right up in the seat. Matt and she arrived a little before me and she was already set to go because I guess she just so excited. We only took a little off the back to try and make her hair look a little fuller and more even. I was a little nervous because Kelsey's hair has a cute natural wave/curl to it and I was hoping it would still be there when we were done--and it was :) It is amazing how snipping just that little bit has helped. She looks even more like a big girl now!
Playing Games
Kelsey loves to play games. She doesn't always play exactly by the rules, but we try to work at it each time we play. She likes to play Chutes and Ladders, Princess Yahtzee, Candyland, and her favorite game of all, Memory. She does understand the rules of Memory and plays it quite well. We do flip all the cards so the pictures are showing though and then she finds all the matches. In addition, she is really into Hide and Seek right now. She likes to be the one to count and often only gives you a very limited time to pick your spot. But then after she counts, she will ask to hide and pick the same spot you were just in. The other night Matt and Kelsey were playing and Matt hid underneath a blanket on the couch. So the next time she did the same. The following time it was Matt's turn to hide again, so he put pillows under the blanket to look like he was under it and ran behind the loveseat. The look on her face was priceless when she pulled the blanket off because she thought she had found him and was pretty surprised he wasn't under there.

Our Big Girl
Could it be? Kelsey has been in her big girl undies for over a week now! We have only had a few little accidents here and there. She is getting so good at telling us she needs to go and really taken off with this potty training thing. We have to give our daycare lady a lot of credit because she works with Kelsey everyday on it. Thanks, Mary! Kelsey is really excited about getting to wear her big girl undies, too. Everyday is an adventure in choosing which pair she wants to wear. Should it be Cinderella, Belle, Tinkerbell, Little Mermaid--oh the decisions ;) She is so cute about it. We are very proud of our big girl.

She is also getting so good at talking to the baby in my belly and telling it everything she is going to do. "Hi Baby. I change your diapers, I feed you bottles, I go walks with you. Bye Baby." She also kisses my belly regularly. It is so sweet.
American Idol started last night and Kelsey loved it. However, she felt she should be in the spotlight because she had to put on a tutu and get her own microphone. She danced around the floor and sang for us. One of her favorite songs to sing right now is "Just the Way You Are".

Baby Pool
It's time to get in on the Baby Skala #2 Pool! (I stole this idea from my friend Liz who is pregnant as well.) It is very easy! All you have to do is click on the expect.net logo on the right side of the page. When it redirects you to the pool click on enter a guess. The prize? Bragging rights! C'mon, it will be fun!
32 weeks
32 weeks pregnant? Can that be right? It is going so quickly now. The baby is about 3 1/2 pounds and 16 inches long. I have gained 30 pounds so far. I gained about 35 total with Kelsey, so I am just a little ahead of where I was with her at this time. I am feeling the baby move all the time and the movements are starting to be more sudden jolts then the subtle movements I used to notice. I am guessing because my uterus is getting so crowded it makes it harder for the baby to move. The doctor thinks the baby is turned sideways right now, but we have a little while to see if baby moves to a head down position. As for changes with me, my sleeping is getting a little trickier by the day. I tend to have a lot of hip pain so using an extra pillow is a must now. My legs are also quite achy at night. After I teach all day and then keep up with a 2 year old, my legs are tired. Plus, my sock line is something to behold at the end of the day. My heartburn remains consistent too, but it almost just seems normal now since I have it so much. However, I will take it all gladly.

Dr. Skala
Kelsey loves her doctor set she got for Christmas. She is getting so good at knowing what all the things do too. She must be very observant when we take her to the doctor with us for the baby appointments because she knew just what to do with the blood pressure cuff and stethoscope. She even says "I take your blood pressure" or "I listen to your heart." She is also big into saying "my belly hurts" and then wants you to take her temperature, look in her eyes, ears, and mouth, listen to her heart, give her medicine and give her a shot. She then reverses roles and she plays the doctor. Maybe this is a sign of things to come in the future. Paging Dr. Skala ;)

Weekend Wrap-Up
Last weekend was a busy and relaxing one at the same time. We spent Saturday running errands and getting caught up on a few random house items during the day. That night, we met Brian and Molly and the girls for dinner. We know our schedules are going to be full for the next few weekends, so we took advantage of an open night. The girls were buddies and had to sit together on the same side of the booth. Always a good time when we are all together. (We missed Jolene who was busy and couldn't join us.)

Diane, Stacey and I went to a wedding show on Sunday. Talk about a pregnant woman's jackpot! Free samples of wedding cake, truffles, and chocolates! It was fun to see all the stuff that can be done to make a wedding even more special. It was a fun morning with the girls!
After that we went to our last Christmas with the Ebeling side. We had yummy food, played dirty bingo with the adults, exchanged gifts among the kids, and ended with some card games. It was good to catch up with relatives we don't see as often as we would like.
