Baby Pool

It's time to get in on the Baby Skala #2 Pool! (I stole this idea from my friend Liz who is pregnant as well.) It is very easy! All you have to do is click on the expect.net logo on the right side of the page. When it redirects you to the pool click on enter a guess. The prize? Bragging rights! C'mon, it will be fun!

32 weeks

32 weeks pregnant? Can that be right? It is going so quickly now. The baby is about 3 1/2 pounds and 16 inches long. I have gained 30 pounds so far. I gained about 35 total with Kelsey, so I am just a little ahead of where I was with her at this time. I am feeling the baby move all the time and the movements are starting to be more sudden jolts then the subtle movements I used to notice. I am guessing because my uterus is getting so crowded it makes it harder for the baby to move. The doctor thinks the baby is turned sideways right now, but we have a little while to see if baby moves to a head down position. As for changes with me, my sleeping is getting a little trickier by the day. I tend to have a lot of hip pain so using an extra pillow is a must now. My legs are also quite achy at night. After I teach all day and then keep up with a 2 year old, my legs are tired. Plus, my sock line is something to behold at the end of the day. My heartburn remains consistent too, but it almost just seems normal now since I have it so much. However, I will take it all gladly.

Dr. Skala

Kelsey loves her doctor set she got for Christmas. She is getting so good at knowing what all the things do too. She must be very observant when we take her to the doctor with us for the baby appointments because she knew just what to do with the blood pressure cuff and stethoscope. She even says "I take your blood pressure" or "I listen to your heart." She is also big into saying "my belly hurts" and then wants you to take her temperature, look in her eyes, ears, and mouth, listen to her heart, give her medicine and give her a shot. She then reverses roles and she plays the doctor. Maybe this is a sign of things to come in the future. Paging Dr. Skala ;)

Weekend Wrap-Up

Last weekend was a busy and relaxing one at the same time. We spent Saturday running errands and getting caught up on a few random house items during the day. That night, we met Brian and Molly and the girls for dinner. We know our schedules are going to be full for the next few weekends, so we took advantage of an open night. The girls were buddies and had to sit together on the same side of the booth. Always a good time when we are all together. (We missed Jolene who was busy and couldn't join us.)

Diane, Stacey and I went to a wedding show on Sunday. Talk about a pregnant woman's jackpot! Free samples of wedding cake, truffles, and chocolates! It was fun to see all the stuff that can be done to make a wedding even more special. It was a fun morning with the girls!

After that we went to our last Christmas with the Ebeling side. We had yummy food, played dirty bingo with the adults, exchanged gifts among the kids, and ended with some card games. It was good to catch up with relatives we don't see as often as we would like.

Random Update

Here are a few pictures too cute not to share. The first is of Kelsey and Daddy playing "band." We currently have a trumpet, guitar, keyboard, and microphones. Kelsey loves playing this with Matt because they act so goofy together.

Here is Kelsey just relaxing. She likes to put her hands behind her head or one hand on her head.

Kelsey is so vocal and able to get her point across with her speech. She sometimes even gets a little sassy with her talking now, too. She will tell Matt and I "stop talking" when she wants us to listen to her or if we are not giving her all the attention. But then there are the times when she says " I love you verrrrrrrrrry much" and it just melts our hearts. She knows what she wants and will keep telling you until you listen. We are working on patience and not getting things immediately. Since I need work on this too, it works for both us to practice that skill ;)

She is starting to show more and more signs that she understands there is a baby coming. She will ask me to hold her to sleep and she will say "goo goo ga ga." We ask her who talks like that and she says "babies." We are trying to do as much with her as we can with just the three of us since we know her world will be changed a lot when the baby arrives. However, we know the change will be great and we cannot wait! We are at 31 weeks! Let the single digit weeks countdown begin!

Just Keep Swimming

Kelsey started swimming lessons again this week. She was in them last year and seemed to enjoy them, so we moved up to the next class. The class is supposed to be for age 3 and up, so I was a little nervous that she might be way behind. However, much to our pleasant surprise, she did really well! The class has three boys and Kelsey. They started with blowing bubbles and doing the back float. By the end of the class she was completely dunking her head and jumping in. She was not afraid at all and really enjoys the water.

Happy 2011

Happy New Year! Here's to a great 2011! 2010 was a great year for us. Any year where we are healthy, happy, safe, and loved is one to be thankful for. The new year will start with big changes for us since Baby Skala is due in just 2 months! Very excited!
